The Biltmore Tbilisi

From The Dairy Of An Adventure

The Biltmore Hotel Tbilisi: the upscale luxury and bird’s eye view of the city

Well, I am not going to be modest and want to highlight that I have explored a great number of countries and crossed many borders. I love to think of myself as an adventure-seeker, so one day after long internet research conducted in order to find totally new and one might even say, yet undiscovered travel destinations I stumbled upon and advertisement of Georgia… No, not the U.S. state Georgia but independent republic on the Black Sea cost. Frankly speaking, I was about to drop this idea down and search for more exotic places but after Googling for several minutes images of this country and its history got me really interested. Also, as I discovered Georgia is Visa free for all European countries so I decided not to waste time and packed my luggage.

First impression was made right after I put my feet on the Georgian land – Airport staff greeted me with the bottle of Georgian wine! Impressive, isn’t it? The thing is that Republic of Georgia happens to be known as Cradle of Wine and as far as I know the recent archaeological excavations have proved that Georgians were the first to start cultivating vine. Plus, the most ancient vine seeds dating back to the VI century BC were found in this country. Well, it was also one of the reasons, why I decided to go to the remote country of Georgia and get an authentic local experience there. So, I arrived in Tbilisi, it’s a beautiful city and a mix of old and modern, I strolled there a lot, including narrow cobbled streets of Old Tbilisi. Suddenly I found myself at the central Rustaveli Avenue and I was really impressed with its urban architecture: Rustaveli Theater, Tbilisi  Opera House and other remarkable buildings. Suddenly I came across a very impressive construction, it attracted me with its solid look and I decided to enter… That’s how I discovered the Biltmore Hotel Tbilisi which later provided me with unforgettable memories. In addition to the upscale luxury, The Biltmore Hotel Tbilisi admired me with combining historic elegance with modern appointments. I was impressed with the restored former IMEL building (the building which I entered from the beginning). I found later that it was one of the landmarks of Tbilisi built in the 1930s, which has been restored and decorated with a domed ceiling, marble floor and has very precious and refined design. Later on, having walked at the glass bridge; I stepped into the modern world of the glass skyscraper. The Biltmore Hotel Tbilisi with its wonderful location gives an opportunity of enjoying bird’s eye view of the city and the Mtkvari River. Views over Tbilisi are truly magnificent and I made lots of memorable shots. I am a big gourmand, having tasted lots of exotic and traditional gourmet dishes worldwide. So, I was really happy to hear that I could take gastronomic delights from the Mediterranean culinary masterpieces and taste Georgian and European cuisine as well. I was also on the rooftop bar XEME and I got there great experience. To tell the truth, I had no idea what XEME means and as I found later it is one of the varieties of seagull.

The specious feel at the hotel was enhanced by featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and, in addition I was inspired with minimalistic design of rooms, where glass is a kind of symbol of lightness. Not to forget to mention, there is the choice of eight room categories, including the exclusive Royal Suite, which offers the epitome of luxury. One of the landmarks of The Biltmore Hotel Tbilisi, having deeply impressed me, is the historic amphitheater, “The Guild”, which in the 1990s even housed the Parliament of Georgia. At present the amphitheater has become one of the most remarkable destinations, and as I was told it often houses Tbilisi’s most significant cultural events and meetings. Other highlights of the hotel include a health club with indoor swimming pool and fully-equipped gym; I also visited luxurious SPA, truly remarkable place! To the end of my story I also want to highlight the hotel garden, one of the coziest venues for relaxing and chilling in a pleasant atmosphere.I really enjoyed my trip in Georgia and I highly recommend staying at the super-comfortable The Biltmore Hotel Tbilisi and catching a glimpse of stunning views of the capital of Georgia!
